Biography

Carlota Amado is a spirited young pianist - she refers to music as the only matter in her life that is every second a part of it. Piano playing is the best way for her to express her personality and emotions.

Carlota is currently graduating as a soloist with Prof. Michael Uhde at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, with who (as well as with Prof. Markus Stange) she has also completed her Master's degree.

She attended master classes with, among others, Elisabeth Leonskaya, Sequeira Costa, Leonel Morales, Peter Lang, Paul Badura-Skoda, Vitaly Margulis, Lilya Zilberstein, Eldar Nebolsin, Bruno Canino - Pierre Amoyal (duo piano/violin) and Arie Vardi.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Carlota performed in Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Croatia and Brazil.

In a number of competitions, she was awarded prizes, such as the 2nd prize (1st prize was not awarded) in 2013 at the competition of the Culture Fund Baden for "Russian Piano Music", 3rd prize in 2012 at the XII Concours International de Piano Alexandre Scriabine in Paris and several advancement awards and grants such as the prize of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the chamber music category in 2010 and a grant of the "Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe" in 2008.

As a soloist she performed with the Baden-Baden Philarmonic, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Karlsruhe (as part of a tour of Brazil) and several times with the Orquestra do Norte.

Carlota took part in projects of the Orchestra Academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (summer 2012 & 2013) touring throughout Europe.

She regularly plays chamber music with her duo violin partner Iason Keramidis and with members of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
